Melaya Leff- Performance Series
We’re honored to be part of the renowned Astoria Cultural Festival for the second year in a row, and this time, YOU have the chance to perform with us!
Step into the spotlight with a fun, flirty, and sassy Melaya Leff choreography!

So, what is Melaya Leff? The melaya is a large, shawl traditionally worn by women in Alexandria, Egypt, wrapped around the body for modesty when walking through town. Over time, this everyday garment transformed into a playful and theatrical dance prop, giving birth to the Melaya Leff dance AKA "Eskandarani dance"—a cheeky, charming, and feminine style full of flirtatious gestures, and dramatic reveals, danced in a short, sexy dress.

In this 5-week series, you’ll learn and perfect an exciting, high-energy routine, building confidence and stage presence as we prepare for an unforgettable performance at one of Queens’ most vibrant cultural celebrations!
